Beauty

As Catholics we are so blessed to have in our own homes, beautiful objects that reminds us of God.
I intend to wander through my own home and tell you of some of the treasures I have, that move my spirit to pray, to meditate, to finger, touch, and use to the Glory of God. I hasten to add that I have no artistic gifts to create beauty, and I have very modest means, but all the things I will talk about cost mostly only a few dollars.
I begin with my most used rosary lying rosy and serene in a small Derby Crown china dish beside my bed. I finger the deep pink beads as I drift into sleep, whispering the name of Jesus, feeling the outline of the metal crucifix and pondering on His precious sacrifice.Sometimes I wake up in the night and find it hard to get back to sleep that is when I pick up this rosary and pray the Glorious Mysteries. The sweet meditation relaxes my mind. The delicate hint of roses from the beads reminds me that one of the titles of the Blessed Mother is Mystical Rose. Sometimes before I have finished praying I am asleep, wrapped in His glorious love.

When I am going to Mass, or to the church to pray, I pop this rosary into my pocket in case I get the chance to pray it. I often do. Thank you Lord for this wonderful gift you give to your church.

Meet Anna

What is this blog? To celebrate the beauty of the Catholic religion and its beliefs as seen by one conservative Catholic woman. Although it is not my name I choose to call myself Anna in honour of Anna who also loved to pray. I'm a wife, a mother and grandmother and I love my life! Praise be to God!
